Charles Leclerc topped the session for Ferrari with a lap time of 1:30.861s. The Monegasque driver was quick from the start, initially setting the pace before being briefly dethroned by Andrea Kimi Antonelli. However, Leclerc responded with an even faster lap to reclaim the top spot. His performance highlighted Ferrari’s strong one-lap pace, and he finished the session 0.077s ahead of his nearest competitor.

Antonelli continued to impress in the Mercedes, finishing second with a lap just 0.077s off Leclerc. The young Italian momentarily held the fastest time of the session with a 1:31.189s before Leclerc went quicker.

Lando Norris had a slow start for McLaren, struggling to set a competitive lap time in the first 90 minutes. However, once he found his rhythm, he climbed up the timing sheets, eventually securing third place with a 1:30.943s. His session wasn’t entirely smooth, as he suffered an off-track excursion at Turn 4 due to oversteer, but he recovered well to post a competitive lap.

Max Verstappen ended the session in fourth place for Red Bull, setting a time of 1:31.209s. While not the fastest, his pace remained solid, and the team likely focused on longer runs and data gathering rather than outright speed.

Jack Doohan completed the top five for Alpine with a lap of 1:31.239s, putting in a consistent performance as he adapted to the team’s car.

Alex Albon secured sixth place for Williams with a 1:31.444s, showing decent speed for the team. Isack Hadjar, driving for Racing Bulls, finished in seventh with a 1:31.761s, marking another solid session for the young driver.

Fernando Alonso, stepping in for an unwell Lance Stroll at Aston Martin, had a troubled start to the session when his car stopped near the pitlane exit. The team quickly wheeled him back to the garage, and after a fast fix, he returned to the track. He finished eighth with a lap time of 1:32.084s, not as high up as expected but still gathering valuable data for the team.

Gabriel Bortoleto had a disrupted session for Sauber, finishing ninth with a 1:32.147s. Midway through the session, he was forced to return to the garage, with his car covered by screens as the engineers worked on an apparent issue with the C45.

Oliver Bearman rounded out the top ten for Haas with a 1:32.361s. His session was interrupted when a large piece of his engine cover detached from the car, forcing an early return to the pits. The Haas team worked swiftly to repair the car, allowing him to return to the track before the halfway mark.

The session concluded with the usual race procedure tests, including a Virtual Safety Car period and a practice red flag. A red flag had also briefly interrupted the session earlier when debris, reportedly glass from the starter’s box, was spotted on the pit straight.
