The 2024 Formula 1 season saw some notable figures when it came to crash damage, with Sergio Perez, according to reports, leading the charge.

The Mexican's damage costs reached a staggering $4,861,000, making him the most expensive driver in terms of repairs. His biggest hit came from a crash in Monaco when he was rear-ended by Kevin Magnussen, resulting in significant damage to his car.

Alex Albon wasn't far behind, with aproximate $4,664,750 in repair costs. The Williams driver's crashes involved several front wings and suspensions, which added up over the season.

Franco Colapinto, who stepped in for Logan Sargeant after the American driver struggled with multiple accidents, racked up $4,436,000 in damage. Despite only racing for part of the season, Colapinto’s crashes included damage to multiple parts of the car, including front wings, suspensions, and floors.

On the opposite side, Pierre Gasly was the standout of the year, with a remarkable $0 in crash damage. In a season filled with 24 races and plenty of opportunities for mistakes, Gasly's ability to avoid any damage at all was a historic achievement.

Other drivers like George Russell, Carlos Sainz, and Logan Sargeant also faced substantial repair costs, but none came close to the top three. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen, who clinched his fourth consecutive title this year, managed to keep his repair costs low at $910,000.
