F1: The Academy is a new Netflix series that takes fans inside the world of F1 Academy, the all-female racing series created to support and develop young women in motorsport.

Similarly as popular series Drive to Survive, the show follows the drivers through the 2024 season, offering a closer look at their lives, the racing, and everything that happens behind the scenes. It’s a chance to see the sport from a fresh perspective and to get to know the people behind the helmets.

The series has seven episodes and includes footage from the paddock, team garages and race weekends. It also shares more personal moments with the drivers, showing what it’s like to be part of a growing series with big ambitions. The 2024 season brought plenty of action, and with Abbi Pulling winning the championship, so there’s a strong storyline to follow from start to finish.

This project is led by F1 Academy’s Managing Director Susie Wolff and produced by Reese Witherspoon’s company Hello Sunshine. Their goal is simple: to give more visibility to women in motorsport and help bring new fans into the sport. With full support from Formula 1 and all ten F1 teams now involved in the Academy, the timing for this kind of series makes sense.

Fans can expect real insight into what it takes to compete at this level, along with the usual highs and lows that come with racing. It’s not a flashy show for the sake of drama but rather a thoughtful look at a sport that is slowly but surely changing.

The series will be released on 28 May, just before the series heads to Montreal for its fourth round of the 2025 season.
