Teams come to Bahrain with lots of information from pre-season testing, since it was held on the same track. Using what they learned, some of the top teams have brought their first big car upgrades of the 2025 season.
Ferrari has brought the biggest update package to Bahrain. The team has introduced five new parts for the SF-25, all aimed at helping Lewis Hamilton, who has been struggling with the stability of the car, especially at the rear.
After the Japanese Grand Prix, Hamilton said that something on his car was not working properly, and Ferrari has responded with several changes to try and fix the issue. The team has reshaped the floor to improve how air flows underneath the car and into the diffuser, which is a part that helps push the car down onto the track for better grip.
The diffuser has also been redesigned, and a small change to the rear wing has been made to improve the car’s overall aerodynamic efficiency. These upgrades are all focused on giving the car more rear-end grip, which should help Hamilton feel more confident when driving.
Red Bull has also brought a couple of important updates. The team has fitted a new front wing flap with a longer shape, which should help create more downforce and make the car work better with the rear wing. In addition, they have updated their cooling louvres, which are small vents that allow hot air to escape from the car.
These new, wider louvres are designed to help the engine stay cool in Bahrain’s extreme heat. These changes are expected to help both Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda get the best out of their cars this weekend.
McLaren has made one small but smart change. They have added a new winglet near the front brake duct. This part helps guide the airflow around the front wheels in a smoother way. It might seem like a minor detail, but it can make a difference in how stable and responsive the car feels, especially in corners and under braking.

Haas has focused on cooling as well. The team has made the opening at the back of the engine cover wider, which helps hot air escape more easily. This kind of update is particularly useful in hot weather, and Haas plans to use it only if the temperatures are high enough during the weekend.
Other teams, including Mercedes as the only one out of the top 4, have not brought any new parts for this race.
