Pedro Acosta absolutely lit up the track at the Japanese Grand Prix, as the rookie snatched pole position with a lap record of 1:43.018. The rookie star not only grabbed P1, but he also became the third youngest rider to claim a pole. Joining him on the front row is Francesco Bagnaia, who delivered a stunning final lap. Rounding out the top three is Maverick Viñales.

Q1 had its share of chaos with rain threatening, but Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo managed to secure their places in Q2. As Q2 kicked off, the rain made the session tense. Marc Marquez took the top spot with his flying lap, even beating Acosta’s time, but the rookie soon struck back and reclaimed his position. As the session neared its end, Bagnaia briefly took P1 before Marquez surprised everyone with a time of 1:42.868. Unfortunately for Marquez, the lap time was deleted due to track limits, giving Acosta the pole back. Jorge Martin crashed out at Turn 9 in the final moments and will start from 11th.

The second row is led by Enea Bastianini, who had a fantastic ride, securing fourth place. He is followed by Brad Binder in fifth and Franco Morbidelli in sixth. Fabio Di Giannantonio will lead the third row, with his teammate Marco Bezzecchi in eighth. Marc Marquez will start from ninth, facing a tough Sprint and race.

Jorge Martin’s earlier crash leaves him in 11th, sandwiched between Alex Marquez and Fabio Quartararo in 12th. Further back, Jack Miller and Aleix Espargaro will line up on the fifth row, both aiming to fight through the pack.
