Alpine Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore has outlined the team’s goals for the next three seasons in Formula 1: securing top-six finishes in 2025, aiming for podiums and race wins in 2026, and making a bold push for the championship in 2027.
Alpine has had a tough season, finishing sixth overall in the Constructors’ Championship, the same as in 2023, but with only 65 points—about half of last year’s total.
The season started poorly, with just two top-ten finishes in the first eight races. However, the team managed to turn things around in the second half of the year and at least fix things up a little bit.
The highlight of Alpine’s season came at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where the team surprised everyone with a double-podium finish in wet conditions. Pierre Gasly also delivered solid results later in the season, finishing fifth in Qatar and seventh in the final race in Abu Dhabi.
Flavio Briatore, Alpine’s Executive Advisor who returned to the team in June, played a key role in their improvement. He especially credited a major upgrade introduced in Austin for boosting the car’s performance and also has set some big goals for the coming years.
“Alpine must always be in the top six next year,” Briatore told German outlet Auto Motor und Sport.
“Maybe a podium every now and then.
“We have to improve our car to achieve this. That should be possible.
“Aerodynamically, we have much more room for manoeuvre than Ferrari or McLaren.”
He added: “In 2026, we want to be on the podium in 50 percent of all races. Then you automatically win one or another race.
“In 2027, we must be able to compete for the title.”
With more aerodynamic testing time than their rivals, Alpine plans to build on the improvements they have made throughout 2024 and get closer to the front of the grid in 2025.
