Carlos Sainz believes that Ferrari can still win the Constructor’s Championship if the team maintains the good performance from the past few races on more traditional tracks like Circuit of the Americas.

Ferrari's season has been a rollercoaster, with the team claiming only three wins, including a memorable victory at their home race in Monza, but also losing crucial points due to their own mistakes.

Ahead of the United States Grand Prix, Ferrari sits 34 points behind Red Bull in the championship, meaning that there is a 75-point gap between the Scuderia and leading McLaren.

Although the gap appears to be too big, it is not impossible to close as there are still six races left in the 2024 season.

What plays to the advantage of the Italian team is a great-looking form that they had before the almost month-long autumn break.

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc both showed strong pace in Singapore and Baku, even though only the Monegasque managed to secure a podium finish once. It also seemed that the long-lasting bouncing issues, which came with the last upgrade, were finally resolved.

Sainz believes that if Ferrari maintains its performance on more traditional circuits like Austin, Mexico or Brazílie, the team can realistically aim to outpace both Red Bull and McLaren to secure the title.

"I think the more tracks that we've done since Monza, the more confident we are that the upgrades that we brought to the car have started to work pretty much everywhere," said Sainz quoted by Motorsport.com.

"But I've always said, until we go to Austin and we try them in a normal track, we will not be able to measure how much we've actually improved on tracks like Zandvoort and Spa, where we last struggled a bit more.

"So I think this will be the most important test so far for us, to see whether all these upgrades that we brought in the past are working in the right direction for more of a normal kind of track, like we see here in Austin."

He emphasized that Ferrari's chances of potentially clinching the 2024 Constructors' title will be showcased in the next three races.

"I think a lot of our belief in the constructors' title will come over the next couple of races. If from here to the end, all the races were like Singapore, Baku and Monza, we would believe that we can do it.

"If in Austin, Mexico, Brazil, that are more standard tracks, we see ourselves falling back a bit and being like we were in Zandvoort or Spa, obviously our belief goes down.

"We are coming back to normal tracks with long combined corners, high-speed corners. Let's see where we are now in these kind of tracks and see if we can still fight like we did in Singapore."

Sainz also recently mentioned that his main goal right now is to win one more race with the Scuderia before he moves to Williams at the end of the season.
