Francesco Bagnaia reclaimed his dominance in the Tissot Sprint at the Pertamina Grand Prix, proving he is unstoppable in the intense 13-lap battle. The reigning champion secured 12 crucial points, crossing the finish line just ahead of teammate Enea Bastianini, while Marc Marquez rounded out the podium after a fierce fight with Bastianini.

The Indonesian race weekend also delivered another twist in the championship story. Jorge Martin, who had been leading, suffered a costly crash that lost him valuable points. Martin had launched off the line brilliantly, storming to the front with Bagnaia close behind, who braved the outside line going into Turn 1. Martin led the way on the opening lap, while Marquez made quick progress from his 12th place start.

But drama hit at the end of lap 1 when Martin crashed out at the tricky Turn 16. Though he later rejoined, his fall handed Bagnaia the lead and opened the door for a fierce fight for the podium, with Marco Bezzecchi, Acosta, and Marquez locking horns. Marquez made his way past Acosta by Lap 3, securing a spot in the top three, while Acosta fell under pressure from Bastianini and slipped back to fifth.

Up front, the pace was relentless, with Bezzecchi setting the fastest lap before narrowly avoiding disaster on Lap 7. His mistake dropped him to fourth, while Martin fought back into the top 10 after passing Jack Miller.

As the race neared its end, Bastianini closed in on Marquez, eyeing second place. With three laps to go, Bastianini made his move at Turn 10 on Lap 12 and moved into P2.

On the final lap, Bagnaia kept his cool and secured the victory. Marquez took third, adding seven valuable points to his championship total, which could prove crucial as the season unfolds. Bezzecchi, despite his early race pace, couldn’t recover after his mistake and settled for fourth, comfortably ahead of Franco Morbidelli, who passed Acosta, leaving the rookie in sixth. Acosta finished with just under half a second on Maverick Viñales.

In the midfield, Johann Zarco impressed with a solid eighth place, finishing ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio, who claimed the last point on offer. Martin, despite his spirited ride, could only manage to finish 10th, missing out on points.
