News.gp journalist and a girl with big dreamsFerrari’s 2025 car has made its debut in a private test at the Fiorano track.
Less than 24 hours after Ferrari unveiled its SF-25 livery at London’s O2 Arena, the team was already back on home soil in Italy, wasting no time in getting its latest challenger onto the track.
Charles Leclerc was the first to drive the new machine on Wednesday morning, kicking off Ferrari’s planned 200km of running for its filming day at Fiorano. Watching from the garage were his new teammate, Lewis Hamilton, and team boss Frederic Vasseur, as the team officially began its 2025 campaign.
Even though Ferrari won five races and finished just 14 points behind Red Bull in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship, the team decided to make big changes to its car for the new season.
The Scuderia believes it had taken last year’s SF-24 as far as possible within the rules, so the SF-25 has been redesigned in several key areas. One of the biggest changes is the front suspension, which now uses a pull-rod system instead of the push-rod design Ferrari has used since 2015. This adjustment is expected to improve handling and overall performance on track.
Now, all eyes will be on how these changes translate into performance when pre-season testing begins in Bahrain.

Speaking about the new challenger, Ferrari Technical Director, Chassis, Loic Serra said: “The SF-25 is an evolution of the SF-24, which gave us an excellent starting point to work from.
“Having said that, we have worked hard, changing 99% of the car, evolving its architecture to maximise performance.
“The pull rod front suspension is only the most obvious of many significant changes.
“We can expect the coming season to be very closely contested, with outcomes decided by thousandths of a second.
“We are all set to give it our best shot to find those gains, even the marginal ones, that can make the difference. We are looking forward to being competitive right from the very first race.”
