After winning the first practice, Lewis Hamilton went fastest in the second one as well, while George Russell and Lando Norris swapped positions, finishing in third and second, respectively.

Similarly to the first Las Vegas Grand Prix practice session, the second one was also really slippery as the track still remains very dusty. Max Verstappen was the one to complain the most as he struggled with lack of grip.

Alpine drivers were the first ones out on track, trying to do the exact opposite as in FP1, closely followed by both Saubers and Charles Leclerc.

Soon after the start, George Russell reported weird issues with his helmet, saying it is “max venting”, meaning that his helmet is allowing too much cold air from outside to flow inside. What added to the weirdness, was Sergio Perez who reported the same issues not long after.

10 minutes into the session all drivers were running on medium compound tyres, while Lewis Hamilton put his Mercedes on the top sport once again. A few minutes after he then suffered a big lock-up into Turn 1.

Max Verstappen also explored the run-off zones, similarly to his teammate Sergio Perez and a few other drivers. Still very slippery out there.

Halfway into the session, Alex Albon was still stuck in the garage, while his car was getting repaired. However, shortly after he finally came out, he brought out a red flag as the car refused to cooperate and stopped on track.

The marshals managed to clean the track very quickly and the session resumed with both Red Bull at the back of the pack, concretely Verstappen in P17 and Perez in P19, however, they didn’t set any time on soft tyres.

Everything then sort of calmed down as all drivers switched from softs to mediums, while Franco Colapinto also suffered a lock-up.

Mercedes had another good session, with Lewis Hamilton staying on top in the second practice in Las Vegas, continuing his strong form from FP1. George Russell finished in third and Lando Norris between them in second. Red Bull’s of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez ended up 17th and 18th.
