Ferrari dominated the United States Grand Prix, just as Charles Leclerc did at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza at the beginning of September, which kicked off a solid streak of form for the Scuderia.

For the Austin race, the two Ferraris lined up on the second row of the grid, after a solid qualifying on Saturday.

Although Carlos Sainz started higher up the field, it was Charles Leclerc who surged past three cars on the exit of Turn 1, moving into the lead on the opening lap after starting from fourth.

The Monegasque driver then controlled the race, winning his third race of the season after remarkable triumphs in Monaco and Monza.

Sainz duly followed Leclerc to the finish line, delivering a 1-2 finish for Ferrari after fending off challenges from Lando Norris and Max Verstappen along the way.

Reflecting on the successful Texas weekend for the Scuderia, Leclerc highlighted that the goal is still to win the Constructors’ Championship.

“Now we are still targeting the title – it’s a long way to go but it’s a good start to this triple header,” said Leclerc at the FIA post-race press conference.

“It’s an optimistic goal, but that’s what we are here for.

“So, yeah, we’ll do the math at the end of the season. Until then, I think the best thing we can do is to focus on ourselves, on our own performance, just like we did this weekend.

“It’s been a really good weekend for the team and for the Constructors’ title. And we’ll try and reproduce that as often as possible.

“And hopefully at the end of the year, when we do the math, we will have won the Constructors’ title.”

Heading into the Mexican Grand Prix, the second race of the triple-header, Ferrari remains third in the Constructors' standings. However, the gap to second Red Bull has narrowed to just 8 points, while they trail McLaren, who is in the lead, by 48 points.
