Winner: McLaren

McLaren entered the final race weekend with a solid yet not definitive lead over Ferrari, with 44 points still up for grabs. Their position quickly improved as Lando Norris led a front-row lockout in qualifying. However, their luck was tested at the start of the race when Max Verstappen spun Oscar Piastri, dropping him to the back of the grid.

Despite the early drama, Norris dominated the front, leading from start to finish for only the second time in his career. His fourth win of the season sealed McLaren’s first constructors’ championship since 1998.

Moreover, Norris not only secured the runner-up spot in the drivers’ standings but also delivered a composed performance under pressure, marking him as a strong contender for next season’s title.

Loser: RB (AlphaTauri)

AlphaTauri fell short of their goal to finish sixth in the constructors’ standings after being outpaced by Alpine.

In Abu Dhabi, Yuki Tsunoda showed early promise despite a poor start but faded out of contention. Meanwhile, Liam Lawson suffered a 10-second penalty for a loose wheel release, ending his chances. A disappointing end to a season that began with higher expectations.

Winner: Carlos Sainz

Carlos Sainz parted ways with Ferrari with an exceptional drive to second place, which was also his second podium at Yas Marina and his fourth top-two finish this season.

Sainz’s career-best season saw him gather 290 points, including two victories and seven podiums, securing fifth place in the standings overall.

Loser: Williams

A frustrating end to the season saw Williams lose out on a point. Alex Albon’s chosen one-stop strategy looked promising until his tyres gave way, dropping him out of the top 10. Franco Colapinto’s race fell apart after contact with Piastri caused a puncture, later forcing Colapinto to retire due to a suspected power unit issue.

Winner: Lewis Hamilton

After a disastrous qualifying session where he placed 18th, Hamilton delivered a stunning performance on Sunday. Fighting his way through the field, he capped his comeback with a sensational last-lap pass on George Russell to secure fourth place.

Hamilton’s drive was a reminder of his skills as he now prepares for a new chapter with Ferrari.

Loser: Red Bull

Abu Dhabi marked Red Bull’s weakest performance since Monaco, as the once-dominant team ended third in the constructors’ standings.

Verstappen’s race was compromised early when he spun Piastri, earning him a 10-second penalty. Though he fought hard, the best he could manage was sixth. Meanwhile, Sergio Perez had a tougher race, getting spun by Valtteri Bottas before retiring due to gearbox issues.

Winner: Charles Leclerc

Charles Leclerc overcame food poisoning and a 10-place grid penalty to deliver a stunning recovery drive. Starting from 19th, he gained 16 places to finish third, marking his best-ever gain in a single race.

Loser: Valtteri Bottas

Valtteri Bottas started strong, securing Sauber’s best qualifying of the season in ninth, but his race unraveled almost immediately. A light collision with Perez earned him a 10-second penalty, and his subsequent mistake led to a collision with Kevin Magnussen.

Bottas’s disappointing race ended a tough finale for both him and Sauber, possibly marking the end of his F1 journey.

Winner: Pierre Gasly

Pierre Gasly maintained his late-season form in Abu Dhabi, qualifying sixth and defending against George Russell during the opening stint. Even though he finished seventh, his efforts helped secure sixth place in the constructors’ standings for Alpine.

Loser: Haas

Haas narrowly missed out on sixth place in the constructors’ standings, beaten by Alpine. Despite Nico Hulkenberg’s 11th points finish of the year, Kevin Magnussen’s race fell apart after a slow pit stop and a collision with Bottas.

Still, Haas surprised by finishing seventh, beating three rivals in a competitive campaign.
