Marc Marquez dominated Friday practice at the Americas GP, setting the fastest lap with a time of 2:02.929. His brother Alex Marquez and rookie Fermín Aldeguer also impressed, while Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli secured strong results. Jack Miller proved slick tires were the right choice, but Marquez remained unbeatable.
The practice session started on a wet track, though there was no rain. Early lap times were in the 2:14 range, with Francesco Bagnaia leading from the start, followed by Pedro Acosta and Marco Bezzecchi, who didn’t complete many laps in FP1. Riders began on wet tires, but the track dried quickly, leading to faster lap times.
Marc Marquez was the first to break into the 2:13s, setting a 2:13.456 lap. KTM showed strong form, securing P3 and P4, but they couldn’t match Marquez’s pace. Rookie Fermín Aldeguer made significant progress, taking second place after a difficult FP1. One clear takeaway from the session was that Jack Miller emerged as Yamaha’s top rider, securing second place and maintaining a strong pace throughout Friday. Meanwhile, Johann Zarco impressed by also breaking into the 2:13s.
With 45 minutes remaining, Alex Marquez set the fastest time of 2:13.384, delivering an impressive performance. Franco Morbidelli continued his strong form, taking the session lead, while his teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio moved into P5. Joan Mir put Honda on top momentarily by taking the lead from Morbidelli—an impressive moment for the manufacturer.
Jack Miller was the first to switch to slick tires, proving they were the right choice by setting a 2:12 lap time. Francesco Bagnaia followed suit but wasn’t as quick as Miller. With 27 minutes to go, Bagnaia managed to climb into third but couldn’t secure the fastest lap. Rookie Aldeguer continued to shine, securing another second-place time. However, no one could match Miller, who posted a blistering 2:09.656 lap.

Marc Marquez returned from the pits to reclaim the lead, only for his brother Alex to surpass him with a 2:07.999 lap. One lap later, both Aldeguer and Marc Marquez broke into the 2:06s, demonstrating the track’s rapid drying and improving conditions.
Marc Marquez dominated the session as he became the first rider to set a 2:05 lap time, with his brother Alex right behind and Aldeguer maintaining third. Yamaha struggled to break into the top 10, except for Jack Miller, who climbed to second. Joan Mir and Johann Zarco also put in strong laps but couldn’t break into the top four.
With 14 minutes remaining, Miller briefly took the lead before Marc Marquez reclaimed it, with Fabio Di Giannantonio moving into second. In the final five minutes, Marquez improved his time again. Johann Zarco crashed out with three minutes to go. Ai Ogura climbed to fifth place, while Marc Marquez put in another fastest lap. Joan Mir secured second place, and Alex Marquez attempted to challenge him but settled for fourth. Miller made a late push, moving into second on his final lap.
In the closing moments, the standout performers were Aldeguer and the Marquez brothers. Marc Marquez ultimately set the fastest time at 2:02.929. Fabio Di Giannantonio finished second, followed by his teammate Franco Morbidelli in third. Rookie Aldeguer surprised with an impressive fifth-place finish, marking his best result so far.
