Marc Marquez dominated the Spanish Grand Prix Sprint on Saturday’s afternoon at Jerez after pole sitter Fabio Quartararo crashed from the lead. Alex Marquez finished second and Francesco Bagnaia third.
The MotoGP Sprint at Jerez got off to a lively start on Saturday afternoon. Fabio Quartararo, who had given Yamaha their first pole position since 2022, made a strong getaway. He outbraked Marc Marquez into Turn 1 and held onto the early lead.
Quartararo stayed ahead for the first lap, but Marc Marquez was right behind him, looking for a way past. On the second lap, Marquez drew alongside Quartararo on the back straight. His move was clean and fair, but Quartararo’s Yamaha M1 got unsettled under braking. The Frenchman ran wide, lost control while trying to turn into the Dani Pedrosa hairpin, and crashed out of the race.

With Quartararo out, Marquez took over at the front with a small gap of 0.6 seconds to his brother Alex Marquez in second place. Francesco Bagnaia was running a safe third, and the top three began to pull clear of the rest.
Meanwhile, Jack Miller and Johann Zarco also crashed out early, joining Quartararo on the list of non-finishers.
There were no changes at the front for the rest of the race. Marc Marquez stayed in full control, keeping a steady gap and avoiding any mistakes. Alex Marquez held firm in second, with Bagnaia comfortable in third.
Behind them, Franco Morbidelli continued his good form to take fourth place, just ahead of rising star Fermin Aldeguer and Fabio di Giannantonio, meaning Ducati bikes filled all of the top six positions.
Further back, Maverick Vinales was best of the rest, finishing seventh for Tech3 KTM. Marco Bezzecchi took eighth on his Aprilia, and Joan Mir came home ninth for Honda. Augusto Fernandez, standing in for Miguel Oliveira at Pramac Yamaha, rounded out the top ten.
Marc Marquez’s victory means he keeps his perfect 2025 Sprint record alive, making it five wins from five sprint races this season and equaling Jorge Martin's record from last year.
