Saturday's action kicked off in challenging conditions, with Marc Marquez taking P1 in an extended FP2 session, as the track dried following morning rain. When Q1 began, the drama unfolded as riders started on a mix of wet and slick tyres. As track conditions improved, lap times got faster, and Raul Fernandez timed his attack perfectly, securing his Q2 spot alongside Enea Bastianini. In Q2, all 12 riders switched to slick tyres. Jorge Martin led the session, while Fabio Di Giannantonio suffered an early crash at Turn 1. Maverick Viñales set the benchmark at the end of the first run, but as usual, pole position was decided in the final minutes. Martin delivered a phenomenal lap in the low 1:27s to take pole at Phillip Island.

He will start ahead of the reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia, who secured fifth place after being one of the last riders to start his second run. Raul Fernandez completed the second row in sixth after an impressive comeback from Q1.

Enea Bastianini finished in 10th, and for KTM, it was a tough day. Brad Binder will start from 11th, while home hero Jack Miller struggled and will begin from 16th. Pedro Acosta also faced challenges and will start from 15th after a difficult end to Q1.
