Despite the F1 season being over now and drivers enjoying their time off, there is still a lot of going on social media. Let’s take a look at some highlights from the second week in December.
Cadillac’s upcoming entry into Formula 1 in 2026 has naturally sparked rumors about who will drive for the new team.
Daniel Ricciardo seemed like the perfect choice, thanks to his experience and popularity in North America. His fame grew through Netflix’s Drive to Survive series, where his fun personality won over many fans, especially in the United States.
Since Cadillac’s entry matches F1’s goal of growing its American fanbase, Ricciardo seemed like the ideal driver to boost the team’s image.
Despite this, Ricciardo appears to be done with the sport and has dismissed the idea of joining Cadillac in a recent interaction with a fan.
“No Cadillac?” he asked Ricciardo, with the former F1 driver replying: “Nah, I’m done.”

The seven-time world champion has said his final and very emotional goodbye to Mercedes as he prepares to join Ferrari next year.
In the weeks before his big move, the seven-time world champion went on a farewell tour to celebrate his time with the team he has been with for 12 years.
One of his stops was Kuala Lumpur, home to Mercedes’ main sponsor, Petronas. He also visited the Mercedes factory in Brackley, UK, where he shared a heartfelt farewell with the team.
At the Brackley headquarters, all of Hamilton’s championship-winning cars were put on display, along with the trophies he earned during his incredible time with Mercedes. Over the years, he won 84 races and six world titles with the team, becoming one of the greatest drivers in Formula 1 history.
Hamilton was emotional as he left the factory for the final time. He was cheered on by team members and fans, who gathered to thank him for everything he achieved with Mercedes.
Former Formula 1 team boss Eddie Jordan has revealed he is battling bladder and prostate cancer, which has spread to his spine and pelvis.
Speaking on the Formula For Success podcast he hosts with former F1 driver David Coulthard, the Irishman described his diagnosis as aggressive.
Jordan, who managed the Jordan F1 team from 1991 to 2005, has scaled back his media appearances since his diagnosis. His first public outing in months was earlier this year at Adrian Newey’s unveiling at Aston Martin, where he quietly attended the press conference.
Jordan also referenced Olympic cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy, who recently disclosed his terminal cancer diagnosis. Drawing attention to the importance of speaking openly about such illnesses, Jordan praised Hoy’s courage and shared his own experiences with the disease.
"Don't be stupid. Don't wait or put it off. Go and get tested."
