Isack Hadjar and Yuki Tsunoda will form the driver lineup for Red Bull's sister team, Racing Bulls, in the 2025 Formula 1 season, following a series of key announcements this week.

Hadjar’s promotion comes after a standout 2024 season in Formula 2, where he showcased impressive consistency and skill, winning feature races in Melbourne, Imola, Silverstone, and Spa-Francorchamps. Finishing second in the championship, just 22.5 points behind Gabriel Bortoleto, who will race for Sauber next year.

The French-Algerian driver has been part of the Red Bull junior team for several years, making his F1 debut in 2023 during FP1 at the Mexico City Grand Prix and later participating in several free practice sessions for both teams.

Hadjar's impressive pace was then further demonstrated during the post-season test in Abu Dhabi by setting a faster lap time than Tsunoda, with a time of 1:24.632s.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner praised Hadjar’s performance, saying he “turned heads” with his pace in comparison to his future teammate during the test.

“Isack is another talent,” Horner said quoted by RacingNews365

“He's quick. He jumped in the car, he was faster than Yuki in the test last week, which turned heads.”

He added: “He’s definitely a raw talent and needs a little bit of polishing, but he has the speed.

“He was unfortunate in Formula 2 to miss out at the last race due to technical glitches with start line software, from what I understand.

“But he’s impressed as well, particularly with his speed. It will be interesting to see how things pan out.”
