News.gp journalist and a girl with big dreamsRed Bull Racing has officially revealed the RB21, giving fans a first look at its car for the 2025 season.
The team had already shown off its familiar livery at the season launch in London last week, but until now, no details about the car itself had been shared. Even with this reveal, Red Bull has been careful not to show too much as the first images were taken in low lighting to keep key design features hidden.
The RB21 will hit the track for the first time on Tuesday at the Bahrain International Circuit. Max Verstappen and his new teammate Liam Lawson will share the 200 kilometers of running allowed for filming days. This will be their first chance to drive the car before official pre-season testing starts on Wednesday.
The RB21 is also significant because it’s the first Red Bull since 2005 not to have been designed—either fully or in part—by Adrian Newey, following his departure from the team.
Verstappen is aiming for his fifth straight championship in 2025, hoping the RB21 will help him stay on top after a challenging 2024 season. Meanwhile, Lawson is preparing for his first full year with Red Bull's senior team after being promoted to replace Sergio Perez.
Team boss Christian Horner believes Red Bull has fixed some of last year’s issues but remains cautious. “The team has worked very hard over the winter to iron out some of the vices of the RB20,” he said.
“We’ll get the first indication next week as to whether we’ve managed to address some of the issues. We made progress toward the end of last season, and now we’ll see if we’ve taken another step forward in these early races.”
