Friday afternoon’s MotoGP Practice at the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia was filled with high stakes and adrenaline, as Francesco Bagnaia claimed the top spot, narrowly beating his title rival Jorge Martin by just 0.050 seconds. Despite a crash at Turn 1, Martin showcased blistering speed throughout the session, while Enea Bastianini secured third place in a dramatic and action-packed day.
Friday afternoon in Malaysia brought a thrilling MotoGP Practice session. Francesco Bagnaia led the session, edging out his rival Jorge Martin by only 0.050 seconds. Despite Martin crashing at Turn 1, he displayed blistering pace throughout and held onto second place, finishing ahead of Enea Bastianini, who claimed third.

The session started with drama as Brad Binder and Aleix Espargaro both crashed within the first 15 minutes. Early on, Martin dominated, setting a lap time of 1:58.939 and continuing to push the limits. Martin led the timesheets ahead of Jack Miller, who maintained relentless speed until the final moments.
As time attacks kicked off in the last 15 minutes, Takaaki Nakagami made a significant leap to P3. Shortly after, Bagnaia and Bastianini launched their attacks, with Ducati briefly holding the top two spots. Martin immediately responded by breaking into the 1:57 range, further improving. In a thrilling conclusion, Bagnaia secured P1 just before Martin's costly mistake at Turn 1.

Maverick Viñales ended the day in fourth, finishing as the top Aprilia rider, while Alex Marquez impressed by securing fifth. The #73 rider finished ahead of Fabio Quartararo, who continued his strong weekend with his M1.
Franco Morbidelli claimed seventh, making it a solid day for the team, with a time that earned him a Q2 spot. He finished ahead of Alex Rins, putting both Yamaha riders in the top ten. Miller took ninth and a place in Q2, with Marc Marquez rounding out the top ten on his final lap.

Just outside the top ten, Pedro Acosta narrowly missed out on Q2. Marco Bezzecchi struggled to recover from his earlier crash, finishing 12th, while Andrea Iannone wrapped up the day in 21st place.
