Franco Morbidelli has been given a penalty for the Thai Grand Prix this weekend after he blocked Francesco Bagnaia during Friday's practice session.
Bagnaia was pushed out of the top 10 due to this incident when his last-lap time, which had placed him seventh, was canceled due to a yellow flag violation.
With only one more lap to secure a place in Saturday's Q2, Bagnaia was forced to abandon his lap when he encountered Morbidelli, who was slowing down at Turn 5.
As a result, Morbidelli was called to appear before the stewards and received a three-place grid penalty for Sunday’s race.
In addition, LCR Honda rider Somkiat Chantra was also penalized with a three-place grid drop for riding too slowly on the racing line.
