Netflix’s documentary series Drive to Survive is returning for its seventh season, once again offering an behind-the-scenes look at the 2024 Formula 1 campaign.
Season 7 of Drive to Survive will be released on Friday, March 7, 2025, and will be available worldwide on Netflix. Like previous seasons, it will have ten episodes, all released on the same day, meaning fans can watch it all right without waiting as Netflix usually does it with other series. To watch, you’ll need a Netflix subscription, with pricing varying by region, typically ranging between €5 and €9 per month for the ad-supported plan in most of Europe.
One of the key storylines will be Max Verstappen’s fourth consecutive World Championship, but much of the attention will also be on the internal struggles at Red Bull, including tensions within the team and uncertainty surrounding Sergio Pérez’s future.
McLaren’s resurgence will be another big topic, as Lando Norris emerged as a true title contender, challenging Verstappen throughout the season. The series is expected to explore McLaren’s team dynamics, including Oscar Piastri’s role and the team orders drama that played out on multiple occasions.
A big focus will also be on Lewis Hamilton’s farewell to Mercedes after more than a decade with the team, along with his move to Ferrari for 2025. The Scuderia's season will also be highlighted, particularly Charles Leclerc’s historic victories at Monaco and Monza, which were among the standout moments of the year.
Last year Adrian Newey also announced his departure from Red Bull and that he will be joining Aston Martin, which will be definitely mentioned as well. Similarly as the management changes at Alpine, which ultimately led to a podium at the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix.
Another ongoing storyline will be the Andretti/Cadillac entry saga, as the debate over whether a new team should join the F1 grid continued throughout the season. Meanwhile, speculation over Daniel Ricciardo and Sergio Pérez’s futures will likely be a talking point, as both drivers faced uncertainty about their long-term roles in the sport.
