Williams is, after the qualifying, in a race against time to get both cars ready for the Brazilian Grand Prix, following crashes involving both drivers, Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto.

In a rainy session, Colapinto slid off the track into the barriers at Turn 3 during Q1, which was the wettest part of qualifying. The same Turn 3 also claimed Lance Stroll and Carlos Sainz.

Albon faced a much worse crash in Q3 as he aimed for pole position. At that point, he was second, just behind Lando Norris. However, his Williams lost rear grip while braking into Turn 1, sending him spinning into the outside wall and causing damage to both the front and rear of the car. This incident brought out the fifth red flag that stopped the session.

Fortunately, both drivers remained unharmed, but the team now faces the challenge of recovering the cars from the damage. With the grand prix scheduled to start at 12:30 local time, the team has only three hours to prepare both cars for the grid. Albon speculated about a possible brake failure, while Colapinto expressed concerns over his ability to participate in the race. "I don't quite know what happened," Colapinto told ESPN. "I had some wheelspin, and it was unrecoverable. I'm really sorry for the team; they have a lot of work ahead of them. I don't know if we'll make it to the race, which is unfortunate. I hope we can sort something out. It was entirely my mistake."

Colapinto shared his desire to compete, stating, "Let’s see if we can make it to the start, which is what I want most. Now we need to put in the effort and try to get on the grid. It's a small mistake that shouldn't have happened."
