News.gp journalist and a girl with big dreamsAccording to reliable sources, Lewis Hamilton is set to work with Riccardo Adami, Carlos Sainz’s former race engineer, during his first season with Ferrari.
Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari has been one of the most significant driver transfers in recent Formula 1 history, and it comes with an important change in his engineering team.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Hamilton will work with Riccardo Adami, who has previously been the race engineer for Carlos Sainz and four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari.
This marks a new chapter for the Briton, as he parts ways with his long-time race engineer, Peter Bonnington, who will remain at Mercedes. Hamilton and Bonnington's partnership at Mercedes has been one of the most successful in F1 history, and Bonnington's absence will undoubtedly leave a gap.
However, Adami, a 51-year-old Italian, brings a wealth of experience to the table. Having worked with two high-profile drivers like Vettel and Sainz, he is well accustomed to managing the complexities of high-level F1 racing.
His role as Hamilton's race engineer will be crucial, as he transitions from being the voice in the ear of previous Ferrari stars to helping the seven-time world champion achieve success with the Maranello-based team. While Ferrari has not yet officially confirmed Adami's appointment, the reports from Italy strongly suggest he will take on this key role.
As part of his switch, Hamilton will continue his relationship with his manager, Marc Hynes, with whom he reunited last year. Additionally, he is expected to bring along his usual support team, including trainers, photographers, security personnel, and public relations staff.
