Oscar Piastri led the field in the third and final practice session of the Mexican Grand Prix, delivering a McLaren one-two alongside teammate Lando Norris.
The third and final practice session for this year’s Mexican Grand Prix started off slowly, as many drivers took their time to get out on track. After 10 minutes, only half of the grid had left the pits.
Pierre Gasly had a similar off-track moment as he did yesterday. The Alpine driver locked up his tyres at Turn 1, taking a trip to cut the grass once again.

As soon as Lando Norris left the pits, 18 minutes into the session, he had to abort his push lap after a small moment in Turn 5, though it was nothing serious.
A few minutes later, a yellow flag was flown briefly after Liam Lawson spun in the stadium section. Fortunately, the New Zealander avoided any impact and soon found a gap in the traffic to continue on his way.

Nico Hulkenberg reported brake issues with his Haas over the radio, especially in Turns 1 and 4. The German driver was in seventh place at the moment, running on medium tyres, while those ahead of him were running on softs.
Meanwhile, with the Ferrari drivers holding P1 and P2, Leclerc's front-end mechanic stumbled while waving the SF-24 out of the pits, managing to play it off smoothly but narrowly avoiding hitting his head on the concrete.

With around 20 minutes left in the session, several drivers were completing longer runs as they prepared for the final low-fuel qualifying simulations.
Max Verstappen, who had to change his power unit because of issues from yesterday, recorded the fastest time, but Lando Norris quickly beat him by nearly half a second.
However, a few seconds later, it was Oscar Piastri who placed his McLaren at the top of the timesheets.
Lewis Hamilton then clocked the fourth-fastest time but was a bit taken aback, remarking: "That was a decent lap, they are ******* quick," after being told about the half-second gap between him and Piastri.
With two minutes remaining, Verstappen had to abandon his flying lap after making a mistake at the entry to the stadium, leaving the timesheets unchanged.

Oscar Piastri led the field in FP3, just 0.059s ahead of his teammate Lando Norris.
Carlos Sainz recorded the third fastest time, followed by Max Verstappen, who recovered after yesterday’s power unit issues. Lewis Hamilton completed the top five.
