As the MotoGP winter testing approaches, some of the riders, like Marc Márquez, are already sharpening their skills at the Aspar Circuit in Valencia, Spain.
Fresh off Ducati’s factory team launch for the 2025 season, Márquez wasted no time returning to the track. Márquez has been making the most of his winter break, testing the Ducati Panigale V2. Earlier this month, Márquez reportedly matched the track’s lap record during a test session, a rumor confirmed by Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali. This week, Márquez was back on the Panigale V2 at Aspar for another round of high-intensity training ahead of the season’s testing in Malaysia, currently scheduled for February 5-7.
Joining him on the Spanish circuit was his younger brother, Alex Márquez, along with Fermin Aldeguer, Alex Márquez’s teammate for the upcoming season.
The Aspar Circuit has become a winter hotspot for MotoGP riders eager to stay competitive during the off-season. Even the reigning champion, Jorge Martin, was spotted training at the track recently, ensuring his sharpness ahead of the new season. Meanwhile, other big names like Fabio Quartararo, Joan Mir, and Moto2 rider Filip Salač have been testing their limits at the circuit over the past few days.
This action doesn’t stop there for Quartararo, Mir, and Aldeguer. All three riders are heading to Southeast Asia early for the Sepang Shakedown test from January 31 to February 2. This session is open to rookies, concession manufacturers, and test riders, who will kick off their preparations for the highly anticipated season.
The next few days will also see team launches. For example, Yamaha’s factory team and their new satellite partner, Pramac, are set to reveal their plans on January 31. Meanwhile, Honda’s factory team will host its season launch on February 1.
With intense training sessions, early testing, and team launches happening, the 2025 season is already shaping up to be an exciting one.
