Franco Morbidelli set the fastest time on the second day of testing in Sepang, with a time of 1:57.210. He was among ten riders who managed to dive into the 1:57s time range. Fabio Quartararo was right behind him in second, finishing just 0.114s behind Morbidelli.

Yamaha continued to impress with three riders in the top ten. Miguel Oliveira secured P8, while his teammate Jack Miller rounded out the top ten. Alex Rins finished in P13, just a few tenths behind.

Close Competition

Alex Marquez was just 0.016 seconds behind Quartararo in third place. His teammate Fermin Aldeguer continued to shine by securing fourth place, only 0.205s behind Morbidelli.

Francesco Bagnaia managed to improve compared to Day 1, finishing fifth. Despite his minor crash at Turn 15, he was pleased with his performance. His teammate Marc Marquez had a tough day, suffering a technical issue at Turn 2 and a crash at Turn 9, ultimately finishing the day in P14.

Honda and KTM

Joan Mir secured sixth place, and even when he ran out of fuel, he managed to set a faster time than Johann Zarco’s Q2 lap at Sepang last year. Zarco finished in P12, while Luca Marini took P15. Rookie Somkiat Chantra showed improvement as he continued to understand the bike.

Pedro Acosta took P7, making progress from Day 1. However, he missed some track time in the morning due to a crash and technical issues. His teammate, Brad Binder, finished in P11. Maverick Viñales ended the day in P16, just ahead of Enea Bastianini, who is still adjusting to the KTM bike.

Aprilia

Marco Bezzecchi entered the top ten on Day 2, helping Aprilia recover after a challenging Day 1. With his teammate Jorge Martin sidelined, Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori stepped in. Rookie Ai Ogura is also gaining experience quickly, while his teammate Raul Fernandez remains sidelined.

With two days done, the final day of testing will be crucial. So stay tuned for more action from the Sepang test tomorrow.
