Fermin Aldeguer, the rising star of Moto2, has been signed by the Bologna factory on a multi-year contract after an impressive 2023 season where he finished third in the championship. With a total of seven wins in the intermediate class, Aldeguer is set to make his mark in MotoGP, starting with Ducati in 2025.
Fermin Aldeguer, a Moto2 race winner, has been officially confirmed to ride for Gresini in the 2025 and 2026 MotoGP seasons. Aldeguer was signed by the Bologna factory on a multi-year contract in March after securing third place in the 2023 Moto2™ World Championship. During that season, the Spanish rider claimed five race victories, including an impressive streak of four consecutive wins to close out the year. In 2024, Aldeguer further bolstered his résumé with two additional victories, one at Jerez and another at the Sachsenring, bringing his total number of wins in the intermediate class to seven.
The young Spanish rider will partner with Alex Márquez for the 2025 season. Fermin Aldeguer was one of the riders signed for a yet-to-be-announced MotoGP team with Ducati earlier this year. Aldeguer will be taking over the spot currently vacated by Marc Márquez, who is moving to the factory Ducati team next year.
“I’m extremely happy to be joining the Gresini family; this is an incredible opportunity to make my MotoGP debut with the best bike on the grid and with a fantastic team that has had plenty of iconic riders," Aldeguer said. "I hope to get to grips quickly with the GP24: we’ll need to approach it step by step, but I cannot wait for the first test of the new season in Valencia. I’d like to thank Nadia and Gigi for their trust, which will be repaid.”
