News.gp journalist and a girl with big dreamsFormula 1 announced that Moët & Chandon champagne will once again be used for podium celebrations after Grands Prix.
Formula 1 is bringing back a familiar name to its podium celebrations. After four seasons of using Ferrari Trento sparkling wine, drivers will once again be spraying Moët & Chandon champagne when they celebrate their victories and podium finishes.
This change was expected, as F1 signed a major 10-year partnership with luxury group LVMH last year. Moët & Chandon is part of LVMH, just like TAG Heuer, which has now replaced Rolex as F1’s official timekeeper.
Moët & Chandon has a long history with F1. It was the podium champagne from 1966 to 1999 and made a one-off return in 2020. Over the years, many legendary drivers—Sir Jackie Stewart, Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Mika Häkkinen, and Michael Schumacher—celebrated their victories with it.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali welcomed the champagne’s return, saying: "The tradition of toasting on the podium is one of the most iconic moments in our sport, and we are thrilled to welcome again Moët & Chandon as the official champagne of Formula 1.
"This partnership celebrates the history, emotion and excellence that bind Formula 1 and Moët & Chandon, in a perfect union of performance and refinement in a truly special year that sees us celebrate our 75th anniversary.
"The return of Moët & Chandon to the podium strengthens further the bond of our innovative partnership with LVMH, and we cannot wait to toast this extraordinary collaboration together."
