Marc Márquez had a great start, but his teammate Francesco Bagnaia had an even better one, moving from sixth to second place. Unfortunately, Fabio Di Giannantonio lost positions and dropped to seventh. Franco Morbidelli and Pedro Acosta almost made contact. Fabio Quartararo also had a strong start, climbing to fourth place.

At the front, the battle for the lead was intense. Both Bagnaia and Álex Márquez overtook Marc Márquez, but he quickly regained the lead, allowing Quartararo to catch up. Joan Mir was defending his position from Acosta and Enea Bastianini and managed to hold them off for now.

By the third lap, Marc Márquez started to build a gap ahead of his brother Álex and the rest of the riders. This gave Quartararo a chance to attack Bagnaia, making it a great weekend for Yamaha. Meanwhile, Di Giannantonio was recovering positions after earlier mistakes. Ai Ogura was struggling in 14th place, having a tough weekend at COTA. Fermin Aldeguer and Jack Miller had terrible starts, falling to 17th and 18th.

So far, it was a strong race for the Márquez brothers, with Marc making one small mistake that didn’t cost him much. On lap four, Quartararo nearly crashed and lost a position, allowing Morbidelli to pass him. The Márquez brothers extended their lead to 1.793 seconds over the rest of the field. Joan Mir caught up to Di Giannantonio in sixth, and Acosta overtook Maverick Viñales. Unfortunately, in the same corner where Mir had crashed earlier, Quartararo almost crashed too and had to retire after a strong start.

On lap five, Di Giannantonio overtook Quartararo, but Quartararo stayed close behind. Marc and Álex Márquez kept exchanging fastest lap times. Quartararo and Morbidelli had a back-and-forth battle, with Morbidelli eventually getting ahead. Before the lap ended, Morbidelli made a strong move and overtook Quartararo. Viñales also retired from the race.

The rookies, Aldeguer and Ogura, were fighting for 11th place. Marco Bezzecchi made a mistake and lost two positions after running wide. Ogura battled for ninth place behind Brad Binder. Lorenzo Savadori received a long-lap penalty for taking a shortcut, even though it wasn’t his fault.

The final lap featured an exciting fight for ninth place, which Ogura won. In the end, Marc Márquez took a safe victory, followed by his brother Álex in second. Francesco Bagnaia finished third, returning to the podium.
