KTM will upgrade its Red Bull KTM Factory Racing MotoGP team from 2025 onwards by appointing long-time partner Aki Ajo as Team Manager.
Ajo, a Finnish motorsport veteran, has led Ajo Motorsport in Grand Prix racing for over 20 years. His successful collaboration with KTM began in 2012, when they secured their first Moto3 Championship. Under Ajo’s leadership, Red Bull KTM Ajo clinched two more Moto3 titles (with Brad Binder in 2016 and Pedro Acosta in 2021) and became a crucial pathway for talent emerging from the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. Ajo’s Moto3 team helped six riders progress to the MotoGP category.

In 2017, Ajo expanded Red Bull KTM’s presence into Moto2, further boosting the KTM GP Academy within the Grand Prix ranks. His team has since sent three more riders to MotoGP and claimed three consecutive Moto2 championships from 2021 to 2023.

As KTM enters its ninth MotoGP season with the KTM RC16 in 2025, with Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta on board, Ajo will take on the role of Team Manager. His deep familiarity with the company, its staff, and riders, combined with his championship-winning mentality, will elevate KTM’s MotoGP efforts. KTM is aiming to unlock the final margins of performance needed to consistently compete for trophies, trusting in Aki Ajo’s expertise to achieve that goal.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo team in Moto3 and Moto2 will continue to focus on nurturing top talent from the KTM GP Academy.
