Jorge Martin took the victory in the Sprint at the Malaysian Grand Prix, earning 12 points. Martin crossed the finish line with a 0.913-second gap to second-placed Marc Marquez, who fought his way up from P5. Enea Bastianini secured third place, while Francesco Bagnaia crashed out on Lap 3. This misstep allowed Martin to extend his lead to 29 points, setting up an important race on Sunday.

From the start, Martin showed absolute dominance. As soon as the lights went out, he executed a perfect start from P2, taking the lead into Turn 1. The tension was in the air as Bagnaia and Marc Marquez began to lose ground to Martin, who started pushing the pace and pressuring Bagnaia to close the gap. Bagnaia, fighting to defend his championship hopes, worked hard to keep up with Martin. Unfortunately, disaster struck on Lap 3, when Bagnaia made a mistake, losing the front of his bike on the curb and crashing out. His error shocked the team and his fans, leaving Bagnaia to watch the rest of the race from the sidelines.

Bagnaia’s crash reshuffled the race order, with Marc Marquez moving up to second and Bastianini advancing to third. Bastianini delivered a remarkable performance, coming from P6 to establish a solid gap over Alex Marquez, who held onto fourth place throughout the sprint.

At the front, Martin had to remain focused, with Marquez keeping the pressure on and staying within a second of the race leader. The intensity continued throughout the Sprint, with the top three riders maintaining a blistering pace.

Meanwhile, Pedro Acosta made some progress early on, as he got into a duel for the final points with Jack Miller. The rookie showed determination, looking for an opportunity to overtake Miller in the closing laps.

In the end, Martin secured the victory, finishing under a second ahead of Marquez, with Bastianini claiming the final podium spot. With this triumph, Martin could win the Championship on Sunday if he gains nine more points than Bagnaia. Alex Marquez took fourth place, while Fabio Quartararo rounded out the top five with another impressive performance. Quartararo finished ahead of Franco Morbidelli, while Brad Binder claimed seventh ahead of Jack Miller. Miller managed to hold off Acosta, securing eighth place.
