While attending the launch of the new Aprilia Tuono 457, Martin shared insights on his injuries and his uncertain return to racing
MotoGP World Champion Jorge Martin made an appearance at the Milan Motoplex during an Aprilia event, where he also shared updates on his recovery.
The reason Martin was in Milan was for the launch of the Aprilia Tuono 457, a new bike from the Noale-based manufacturer.
The update was in a video posted on Aprilia’s Instagram story, where Martin acknowledged the challenges he had faced. “This is my first time at Motoplex, and also my first time wearing an Aprilia Racing t-shirt,” he said in a video. “I’m working hard—it’s been a tough time—but I’m trying to come back as soon as possible. We’re not sure exactly when that will be, but I’ll do my best. I hope to see you all really soon.”
To summarize, Martin had suffered injuries during the MotoGP preseason test at Sepang, where he fractured his right hand and left foot. However, during a practice session before the Thai GP, he had a crash where he suffered multiple fractures in his left wrist. The worst part is that he fractured his scaphoid bone, which is known for its slow healing process.
So far, no one really knows the official date of his return. What is known, however, is that he will miss the Argentine Grand Prix and maybe even Texas.
So while Martin recovers, fans can only wait for the official date of his return. But for now, the MotoGP title fight is heating up in his absence.
