MotoGP fans, rejoice! After a tough few months recovering from multiple injuries, reigning World Champion Jorge Martin is officially set to make his highly anticipated return at the Qatar Airways Grand Prix. With determination and a long road of recovery behind him, Martin is ready to get back on his Aprilia RS-GP and start the next chapter of his 2025 season.
And there’s good news for MotoGP fans, as Jorge Martin is officially confirmed to return to action this weekend at the Qatar Airways Grand Prix in Lusail.
Martin has been out of racing since the first day of pre-season testing, where he crashed and suffered injuries to his right hand and left foot. Unfortunately for him, things got even worse just before the Thai Grand Prix, when a training accident caused further injuries — including fractures to his left hand (radius and scaphoid) and heel bone. Because of this, he had to miss three races in a row: Thailand, Argentina, and the USA.
But now, Martin is returning to action with Aprilia in Qatar. However, it’s expected that the next few races will be a time of adaptation for him, as he didn’t get much time to adjust to the bike during pre-season testing.
“I’m really excited to get back on track and at least give it a go in Qatar,” Martin said in a press release from Aprilia. “The plan is to ease back into things, get comfortable on the RS-GP25 again, and just start putting in some laps.”
He admitted that he’s still not feeling 100% and isn’t sure if he’ll be able to finish the race. “Physically, it’s going to be tough, but just lining up on the grid would be a big win for me. It means I’m finally on the road to recovery,” Martin added. “We’ll take it one step at a time and work our way back to full form.”
