Haas will make its debut in Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) this week at the Circuito de Jerez, using its 2023 challenger, the VF-23.

This test, set to span two days, will feature Haas' two new drivers, Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman, along with Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Ritomo Miyata.

The team is taking advantage of the TPC regulations, which allow for testing with two-year-old cars to evaluate rookie drivers and provide existing drivers with up to 1,000 kilometers of running.

For Ocon, this will be his second outing with Haas after his switch from Alpine, having previously tested the team’s car in the post-season Abu Dhabi test at Yas Marina Circuit.

Bearman, meanwhile, will step into the VF-23 for the first time as a full-time F1 driver, following a successful 2024 season with multiple FP1 appearances and two Grand Prix starts at Baku and Sao Paulo for the team and one extra for Ferrari at the Saudi Arabian GP. This test will also mark his first as a teammate to Ocon, offering the duo an early opportunity to work together ahead of the new season.

Miyata, a rising star in motorsport, will also make his first appearance in an F1 car during this test. After competing in Formula 2 with Rodin Motorsport in 2024, the Japanese driver, who will return to F2 with ART Grand Prix this season, will get a chance to familiarise himself with Haas’ machinery. His participation in the test is linked to the technical alliance between Haas and Toyota, showcasing the strengthening ties between the two teams.

The test schedule is divided between Bearman, who will run the car on Wednesday morning, and Miyata, who will take over in the afternoon. On Thursday, Ocon will get his turn in the VF-23, with Miyata once again taking to the track in the afternoon.
