Francesco Bagnaia takes pole position at the Grand Prix of Thailand, showcasing his full potential with an impressive lap time of 1:28.700. The reigning champ set a new record-breaking time on his final lap, securing pole position. Bagnaia now prepares to lead the grid, joined by his teammate Enea Bastianini, who was 0.232 seconds behind. From all of Bastianini’s efforts, he managed to dip into the 1:28 range once, placing him just ahead of Jorge Martin, who had a late crash on his final attempt.

The riders had a last practice run in FP2 on Saturday morning, where Marc Marquez led the field, setting the atmosphere for the qualifying session. As Q1 started, Fabio Di Giannantonio set the pace right from the start. Yet the competition intensified at the end of Q1, with Fabio Quartararo claiming a spot in Q2 alongside Di Giannantonio.

In Q2, Bagnaia immediately broke the lap record with his time of 1:29.076, setting the standard early. Later in the session, Marquez suffered a setback, crashing at Turn 3 while in P4. In a dramatic ending, Bagnaia delivered another record-breaking time in the 1:28s, just as Martin crashed at Turn 5.

Marco Bezzecchi finished fourth and will lead the second row. Marquez will join him in P5 as he aims for a podium finish. Quartararo closes the second row, having fought his way up from Q1. Rookie Pedro Acosta claimed seventh, while Di Giannantonio will start in eighth. Alex Marquez completes the third row in ninth, with Maverick Viñales rounding out the top ten.

Further down the grid, Morbidelli starts from 11th, ahead of Johann Zarco, as both riders had crashes during qualifying. Brad Binder and Jack Miller face challenges as they start from P13 and P15, while Aleix Espargaro faces a tough weekend starting from 14th.
