Fabio Di Giannantonio has announced that he is preparing to challenge dominant riders like Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia as he steps into a prime position with Ducati’s latest bike next season. Di Giannantonio, also known as “Diggia,” aims to disrupt the status quo and cement his name among MotoGP’s elite. Backed by the same equipment that helped Jorge Martin secure the 2024 title, he is ready to take his shot at greatness.

A New Chapter

Di Giannantonio’s opportunity comes after an impressive 2024 season on year-old machinery, earning him a direct contract with Ducati. Ready to ride the GP25 under the VR46 team, he now has access to full factory-spec equipment and technical support—an honor previously afforded to only a select few outside Ducati’s factory team.

“This is a beautiful opportunity,” Di Giannantonio shared with GPOne. “I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life. It’s a responsibility, sure, but it also gives me the freedom to play without the immense pressure of being in the official team. The real weight of expectation falls on Pecco [Bagnaia] and Marc [Marquez].”

The Underdog Spirit

Embracing his status as an outsider, Di Giannantonio sees this as a chance to disrupt the dominance of Marquez and Bagnaia. “We can have fun, be the underdogs, and even try to annoy them,” he said with a grin. “Riding at their level will be a chance to learn and grow. There’s no downside, only possibilities.”

While podiums eluded him in 2024, Di Giannantonio remains optimistic. “The goal is to grow, enjoy the experience, and push the GP25 to its limits. At the end of the season, we’ll see where we stand.”

A Resurgence Against the Odds

The Italian’s MotoGP journey seemed to be in jeopardy after the 2023 season, when Marc Marquez took his spot at Gresini. However, a late-season surge, including his maiden grand prix victory at Qatar, revitalized his career. Securing a seat with VR46, he outshone teammate Marco Bezzecchi, finishing 10th in the riders’ championship despite being sidelined by a shoulder injury.

The injury also meant Di Giannantonio missed an opportunity to test the GP25 prototype. However, Ducati test rider Michele Pirro’s positive feedback has fueled his anticipation for the February tests.

Excited for the GP25

“I can’t wait to feel the GP25 for myself,” Di Giannantonio enthused. “From everything I’ve heard, it promises to be a big step forward—less struggle to maintain pace and more focus on refining my riding style. Of course, adaptation takes time, but I’m confident we’ll have an excellent starting point.”

Eyes on the Horizon

As Di Giannantonio prepares for 2025, his determination is palpable. This isn’t just a chance to race with the best—it’s a chance to be the best. With Ducati’s full backing, a hunger to prove himself, and a spark of mischief aimed at his rivals, Di Giannantonio is poised to make waves in the MotoGP world.
