News.gp journalist and a girl with big dreamsAston Martin has officially completed the maiden run of its 2025 Formula 1 car, the AMR25, at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The team had previously revealed its revised livery at the F1 75 season launch event, but the actual car was only unveiled digitally on Sunday evening.
Described as being “close to 100 per cent new,” the AMR25 represents Aston Martin’s efforts to create a more predictable and stable platform following the challenges faced with last year’s model.
Lance Stroll, now entering his ninth season in Formula 1 and seventh with the Aston Martin team, was the first to get behind the wheel of the AMR25. After his initial laps, the car was handed over to two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, who will also contribute to the car’s early development and setup work.
With the team aiming to build on the strengths of previous seasons, these early runs will provide valuable data before the crucial pre-season test taking place at the same venue later this week, where teams will fine-tune their machines ahead of the opening race.

Meanwhile, Haas has also been busy on track, with Oliver Bearman getting more running time in the VF-25. The young British driver, who made three F1 race starts in 2024—one with Ferrari and two with Haas—is entering his first full season in the sport with an edge over other rookies.
The action at Bahrain is set to continue, with Mercedes set to run its newly unveiled W16 and Red Bull also expected to take to the track with the RB21.
