Aprilia revealed their new livery, with reigning champion Jorge Martin leading and Marco Bezzecchi as his teammate, marking the start of a new chapter for the team. The dynamic duo unveiled the fresh new-look RS-GP25 in Milan on Wednesday, January 16th, offering fans a glimpse of the new bike that aims to redefine excellence on track. And the long-awaited question was finally answered: Jorge Martin will proudly take the #1 plate.

The Evolution of the RS-GP25

The Aprilia RS-GP25 represents a monumental step forward in the Noale factory’s MotoGP project. Every component of the bike has been reimagined to ensure it competes at the highest level. From cutting-edge aerodynamics to advancements in the chassis and a new V4 engine, the RS-GP25 is a testament to Aprilia’s commitment to innovation.

Fabiano Sterlacchini, Aprilia Racing’s new Technical Director, remarked: “The goal for 2025 is to be consistently competitive, both in Sprints and races, aiming to achieve maximum results over the course of the season. This is a new era for us, with significant changes in technical management and the rider line-up. We are particularly motivated for the new season and proud to have two MotoGP reference riders on the team, including the World Champion.”

The Star Rider Line-up

For Jorge Martin, the 2025 season marks a thrilling new challenge. The reigning champion, who switched from Ducati to Aprilia, stays confident. “I’m very happy about this new challenge: winning with Aprilia. My goals are very clear—to focus on being the best version of ourselves, both Aprilia and me. I really feel the warmth of the team, and I think this could be the perfect place for me,” he said.

Marco Bezzecchi is equally enthusiastic. “It’s fantastic to join Aprilia Racing. Representing such an important brand is a great source of pride for me. I can’t wait to get on the track, work with the team, and give it everything to achieve great results. There’s a lot of determination here, and it’s something I really appreciate,” Bezzecchi shared.

The #1 Plate

After much speculation, Jorge Martin confirmed he will don the #1 plate for the 2025 season, a first for an Aprilia bike. “I’ve been fighting for this my entire life. Achieving the World Championship and putting this number on the Aprilia is super special. Hopefully, we can use this as motivation to bring it to the top,” Martin said during the Milan presentation.

Martin joins an elite group of riders who have carried the #1 plate, continuing a revived tradition in MotoGP. Francesco Bagnaia previously made history by retaining the #1 plate in 2023, the first since Mick Doohan’s dominant run in the 1990s. Now, Martin aims to not only defend his title but also win another.
