The VR46 Racing Team has confirmed that Andrea Iannone will step in for Fabio Di Giannantonio at the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia. Following an impressive debut season in WorldSBK and his close ties with Valentino Rossi and the Tavullia team, Iannone is set to race in Malaysia. Meanwhile, Di Giannantonio is scheduled for shoulder surgery in Rome as he prepares for the upcoming season.
The VR46 Racing Team has announced that Andrea Iannone will step in for Fabio Di Giannantonio at the Grand Prix of Malaysia. This decision follows Iannone's impressive debut season in WorldSBK and his strong connections with Valentino Rossi. Iannone, who claimed a victory with Ducati in 2016 and has 11 podiums, officially returned to racing in 2024, finishing his WorldSBK season in eighth place with 231 points. Meanwhile, Fabio Di Giannantonio is back in Rome, where he will undergo shoulder surgery this week to prepare for the upcoming season.
