2025 MotoGP Rider Changes Overview

The 2025 MotoGP season brings a host of thrilling rider movements, including debuts of young talents and reshuffles among experienced competitors.

  • Marc Márquez left Gresini Ducati after a single season to join the factory Ducati Lenovo Team, replacing Enea Bastianini, who moved to KTM Tech3. Márquez teams up with Francesco Bagnaia, forming a formidable duo.
  • Pedro Acosta is promoted to the factory Red Bull KTM team alongside Brad Binder. He replaces Jack Miller, who shifted to Pramac Yamaha.
  • Fermín Aldeguer, a rising star from Moto2, joins Gresini Ducati, taking the seat vacated by Márquez. He partners with Álex Márquez.
  • Maverick Viñales left the factory Aprilia Racing team to join KTM Tech3, partnering with Enea Bastianini.
  • Jorge Martín moved from Pramac Ducati to the factory Aprilia Racing team, replacing Viñales. Martín teams up with Marco Bezzecchi, who also switched to Aprilia from VR46 Ducati.
  • Franco Morbidelli joined VR46 Ducati after leaving Pramac Yamaha. He partners with Fabio Di Giannantonio.
  • Ai Ogura, Moto2 standout, makes his MotoGP debut with Trackhouse Aprilia, replacing Miguel Oliveira, who moved to Pramac Yamaha.

2025 MotoGP Regulation Changes Overview

Not many updates have been introduced to the technical and sporting regulations for 2025:

  • Engine Freeze:
A two-year engine development freeze begins in 2025. The engines used in the first race will remain the same throughout the season, and teams are limited to eight engines per year. However, manufacturers with concessions, such as Honda and Yamaha, are exempt from this rule.

These changes are designed to reduce costs, level the playing field, and enhance on-track safety.
