News.gp journalist and a girl with big dreamsAlain Prost is not impressed by Netflix’s lastest Senna miniseries, saying it contains false information and lacks respect for Ayrton Senna’s legacy.
The series, starring Gabriel Leone as Ayrton Senna, was released in 2024 to mark 30 years since his tragic death at Imola. While it has received mixed reactions, Alain Prost made his feelings clear.
"I'm sure Ayrton wouldn't like it, not least because it shows a lack of sensitivity," he told RAC Motori.
The Frenchman, who was once Senna’s biggest rival before they became friends, is unhappy with how the show portrays the Brazilian legend. He is particularly frustrated with how the series presents certain events.
"It's a great story, and you shouldn't tell things that weren't true out of thin air," he said.
More than just the inaccuracies, Prost believes the show is using Senna’s name for the wrong reasons. "If you have to do something commercial, it's not nice to do it in Senna's name. I don't like it, and I don't accept it," he added.
In the past, he has also criticised other portrayals of Senna, including the 2010 documentary, which he felt painted an overly perfect image of the driver.
