It was more than expected but now it is finally offical. Ai Ogura will step up from Moto2 as he signs with Trackhouse Racing for the upcoming 2025 season. He will form a teammate duo with more experienced Raul Fernandez.
Trackhouse Racing has officially announced its rider’s line-up for the 2025 season, with Ai Ogura joining Raul Fernandez in the American-based team. Ogura, a 23-year-old Japanese rider from Kiyose, has signed a two-year deal and will compete on factory-spec Aprilia RS-GP bikes.
Ogura is currently contending for the Moto2 world champion title, sitting in 2nd place with two victories this season and lots of determination to win. His consistent progression through the motorcycle racing ranks, especially his impressive performance with the MT Helmets MSI Moto2 team this year, caught the attention of Track House’s team principal Davide Brivio and owner Justin Marks, who aim to make Trackhouse a team with a chance to shine for young talents.
Ogura's journey began in Japan, advancing from pocket-bikes to mini-bikes, before debuting in the Asia Talent Cup in 2015. After securing 2nd place in the Cup in 2016, he moved to Europe to compete in the FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship and later joined the Moto3 World Championship, finishing 3rd at the end of the 2020 season. Ogura then stepped up to Moto2 in 2021 and a year later closely missed out on the world champion title. He wasn’t really visible in 2023, however this season he is showing again his qualities and continues again to perform strongly. Trackhouse Racing is eager to start working with Ogura, same as the driver, as they will try to challenge the top-teams in 2025.
