The special "Heroo" Pirelli trophies were not awarded to the podium finishers after the Austin race due to copyright issues.
Before the United States Grand Prix weekend, Pirelli unveiled special trophies called ‘Heroo’, representing the connection between tires and F1 cars.
These distinctive trophies, created by Italian artist and designer Matteo Macchiavelli, showcased a human silhouette with raised arms, each wearing a uniquely colored helmet.
The winning driver and team representative were supposed to receive a trophy with a golden helmet, while the second and third-place trophies were to feature silver and titanium helmets, respectively.
However, Pirelli had to cancel the plan due to noticeable similarities to products from a company called Bearbrick. As a result, drivers received completely different trophies, that were shipped to Austin last minute.
While, race winner Charles Leclerc raised a long silver-colored trophy, with red, white, and blue details at each end to represent the United States flag.
His teammate Carlos Sainz only got a smaller version of a Pirelli medium-compound tire and Max Verstappen received the hard-compound version for third place.
Ferrari, as a winning team, was given the soft-compound tire.
On top of that, Pirelli also took down the announcement of the special trophies from their website.
