News.GP journalist who’s all about the thrilling worlds of MotoGP and Formula 1.Valentino Rossi’s VR46 team reveals a striking one-off livery for the 2025 Americas Grand Prix, inspired by the NFL and the Super Bowl, as riders Franco Morbidelli and Fabio di Giannantonio head to the Circuit of the Americas with high expectations.
The VR46 team, owned by Valentino Rossi, has revealed their special livery for the Grand Prix of America, which will be seen on Sunday.
The team decided to introduce a new darker design incorporating the stars and stripes of the U.S. flag. Both riders will be racing with this new look at the Circuit of the Americas on Sunday.
According to VR46, the design was inspired by the National Football League (NFL) and its biggest event, the Super Bowl. The team had hinted at a possible livery change earlier this week, but the official reveal came on Thursday.
So far, VR46 has had a strong start to the 2025 season, with Franco Morbidelli securing a podium finish in Argentina, while Di Giannantonio impressed with a top-five result. Their solid performances have placed VR46 third in the team standings, trailing only the factory Ducati squad and Gresini Racing.
Looking back at last year’s race in Texas, Di Giannantonio finished sixth, while his then-teammate Marco Bezzecchi secured eighth place.
Morbidelli, who topped free practice in Texas and is coming off a podium finish in Argentina, is eager for a strong result this weekend.
“We’re heading to Austin, a track I love. It’s a tough circuit, very different from the last two we’ve raced at,” Morbidelli said for MotoGP.com. “Coming off our great result in Argentina, we’re feeling confident and excited. Our goal is to keep the momentum going, start strong from day one, and work as well as we did in the first two races. I’m also happy to be back in the U.S. after spending some amazing time in Brazil last week.”
With a new livery and solid performances on Friday, VR46 is ready to take on the Americas Grand Prix with high expectations.
