Sergio Perez has faced a difficult season in Red Bull so far. The Mexican driver currently sits eighth in the Driver's Championship with 144 points, which is less than half of his teammate Max Verstappen's total.

He hasn’t stood on the podium since the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix in April and has struggled to provide strong support for his team in the Constructors' Championship, allowing McLaren to jump Red Bull two weeks ago.

This has fueled rumors that Perez may soon consider retiring from Formula 1 soon with the announcement at the home Mexican Grand Prix. However, the Red Bull driver has recently claimed that ‘he wants to end his career when he wants to, not when someone tells him’.

In addition to that, he humorously shared a clip from the popular movie 'The Wolf of Wall Street', captioning it with "Sorry" and a string of laughing emojis and caught everyone off guard.

Earlier this season, Perez signed a 1+1 year contract, securing his place with Red Bull for next year and giving the reigning champions the option to extend his contract through 2026.
