Czech promising racing driver Roman Staňek has confirmed his Formula 2 return as he signs with Invicta Racing for 2025.
In a decision, highlighly anticipated by Czech fans, Roman Staňek returns to Formula 2 as he has been confirmed as one of Invicta Racing’s drivers for the 2025 season.
The Czech driver ended his three-year stint with Trident after the Monza round, a great partnership that began during his F3 campaign in 2022 and earned him his first win at the Imola Grand Prix but later failed to meet his expectations.
While his 2023 and 2024 seasons were challenging—finishing 18th in 2023 and scoring points only three times in 2024, including a sprint race victory in Melbourne—Staněk has found a fresh opportunity at Invicta.
He is now aiming to reignite his promising racing career with a new team, one that clinched the 2024 championship with future F1 driver Gabriel Bortoleto.
Joining Staněk at Invicta will be Leonardo Fornaroli, who steps up to F2 after impressively clinching the F3 championship as the Italian secured the title at Monza just days before his announcement, doing so without a single race win.
Alongside his teammate, Staněk will also participate in the post-season F2 test in Abu Dhabi as part of the preparation for the new challenge in 2025.
Roman Staněk said: “I can’t wait to drive for Invicta Racing in 2025. The team has been fighting at the front of the field all season, achieved some really great results and is undoubtedly one of the most desirable options in the paddock for next year. That means there’ll be some pressure for Leonardo [Fornaroli] and I, but I think we’re up to the challenge. I’m ready for whatever F2 throws at me in 2025.”
Andy Roche, Team Principal said: “We’re thrilled to have Roman onboard for 2025. His experience of F2 in recent years, as well as the other series he’s raced in will be invaluable to Invicta Racing in 2025. I see the partnership between himself and Leonardo [Fornaroli] being extremely fruitful as well. That mix of approaches from a driver who knows the ropes and one fresh to the series will push the team forward, of that I have no doubt.”
