It has been a weekend full of struggles and issues for Alpine. The team from Enstone wasn’t really able to find the pace during any of the three practice sessions and on top of that Esteban Ocon has been dealing with technical or other issues over the whole weekend.

In FP3 there was a problem with the fuel pump and in Qualifying he clipped a wall and got a puncture which ended his session.

Despite all the problems and unfortunate moments, Alpine’s other driver, Pierre Gasly, still managed to secure a solid result for the team as he finished P13 in today's Qualifying, which was way better than he or Alpine expected to achieve today.

However, the FIA has now announced that Gasly got disqualified from today’s Qualifying due to exceedance of the instantaneous fuel mass flow. That leaves the French driver to start all the way from the back of the grid, even behind Guanyu Zhou, who got a penalty for a power unit change.

This marks the third disqualification after a qualifying session this year. Haas drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen were disqualified from the Monaco Grand Prix due to their cars violating rear-wing measurement regulations.

More recently, Alex Albon faced a similar outcome after the floor of his Williams car, fitted with a new design, was found to slightly breach the rules following his qualifying run at the Dutch Grand Prix.
