Mercedes has revealed a special livery for this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their technical partnership with Petronas.
Mercedes has introduced a special livery for this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix, paying tribute to their title and technical partner, Petronas.
The livery, designed specifically for the Marina Bay Circuit event, marks the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the partnership.
The livery will feature Petronas' iconic emerald green, taking the place of most of the silver on the sidepods and front wing of the W15.
“Our partnership with Petronas is our longest standing and still going strong, and for any company to reach its 50th anniversary is an incredible milestone,” stated Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff.
“This livery is therefore not only a celebration of their 50th anniversary but a reflection of Petronas’ importance in our team’s story and honours our journey together.”
Mercedes opted to run the special livery this weekend in Singapore because of its proximity to Petronas' headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The team is also set to visit the Malaysian capital next week.
“The livery looks incredible. I can’t wait to see it on the car in the garage and then to get behind-the-wheel on Friday,” approved the livery Lewis Hamilton.
“It’s a privilege to celebrate this milestone, and our journey together, at such an important race.”
George Russell added: “The design looks brilliant and is a fantastic tribute to such a milestone achievement.
“It is great to be able to recognise the importance of our relationship at the race closest to their home.”
