Max Verstappen finished the Singapore Grand Prix in second place, however, crossed the finish line with more than a 20-second gap to race winner Lando Norris, which Helmut Marko labeled as ‘crazy’ and called for Red Bull’s ‘urgent’ improvements.

Red Bull came to Singapore with low expectations as they still haven’t completely fixed the RB20’s issues and upgrades are planned to be introduced in Austin next month. The Marina Bay Street Circuit was also the only track where Red Bull struggled and failed to win last year in the most dominant season in their history.

After a tough Friday, the views for the Singapore GP looked even more pessimistic, however, Max Verstappen managed to pull off the second-fastest qualifying lap on Saturday and the day after finished the race in the same position, securing Red Bull's first podium since the Dutch GP.

Despite that, Red Bull’s advisor Helmut Marko wasn’t really happy with the outcome of the race, mainly highlighting Verstappen’s alarming 21-second gap to race winner and Dutchman’s championship rival, Lando Norris.

"It's crazy how he [Norris] has pulled away," Marko told OE24.

"Our deficit is alarming.

"We urgently need performance. Thank God we now have four weeks to work on it. There should be a lot to come,” he hunters.

Norris' Singapore Grand Prix victory has cut Verstappen's lead in the championship to 52 points, with six races and three sprints still to go.
