Haas has announced that their reserve driver Oliver Bearman will get to replace Kevin Magnussen for the full Sao Paulo Grand Prix weekend as the Danish is still feeling unwell.

Haas has officially announced that Kevin Magnussen will not take part in this weekend's Sao Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos, with 19-year-old Oliver Bearman stepping in for the entire event.

Originally, Bearman was set to cover only Friday’s sessions, but with Magnussen sidelined by illness, Haas has decided to let Bearman complete the full weekend.

Bearman, who has a full-time seat with Haas 2025 secured, showed impressive form on Friday, finishing third in free practice and qualifying tenth for Saturday’s sprint race.

It could’ve been an even better result but he saw his lap deleted in SQ3 due to track limits violation and wasn’t able to do another one.

Bearman’s full participation this weekend will mark his third F1 race start and his second outing for Haas. He previously filled in for Magnussen at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix earlier in the season when Magnussen served a one-race ban due to collecting 12 penalty points.

He also stepped in for Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix when Sainz underwent treatment for appendicitis, highlighting his adaptability and readiness for the main stage.

The statement from Haas reads: “MoneyGram Haas F1 Team can confirm that Kevin Magnussen will not compete in the São Paulo Grand Prix and Oliver Bearman will race for the team for the remainder of the weekend.”

However, Bearman’s extended role in Brazil also means Haas will need to rework its Abu Dhabi post-season test lineup, as he now exceeds the two-race limit to qualify as a rookie.
